Life Groups are small groups of people who meet in a home throughout the week and are commited to eat, encourage, study the Bible, pray, and have fun together. We see Life Groups as the best way to practice the Christian Faith to discover how to practically live out the Word of God in our everyday lives.
Getting involved in a life group is a great way to get to know people, make new friends, and share in each other’s walk through life. We love and encourage each other, bear each other’s burdens, and serve together, developing real relationships with each other and Jesus.
This love is modeled for us in the Trinity. The Godhead as our model exhibits this three-way love. The Father loves the Son and the Spirit; the Son loves the Spirit and the Father; the Spirit loves the Father and the Son. In this way God loves you; you love others; and, hopefully, they will love God! For us to do this, or to begin to learn to do this, we must strategically place ourselves in situations or environments to live this love out. Life Groups are NOT solely about loving those who have placed themselves in the group with us. This leads to an inward focus, introversion, and ultimately implosion. We must turn our love to those outside our circle (just as the Trinity turned outside the circle to love us). We are called to love others! Matthew 22:39, John 15:17
