OUR DNA

Core Values

The DNA of The River makes us unique:

Simple and clear plan for discipleship and spiritual growth

Ephesians 4:12-13-- "To prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature."

Planting churches– expanding God's kingdom locally and globally

Matthew 28:19-20 – "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Authentic and accepting of people where they are in life and helping them

Psalm 51:17 – "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise".

Meeting in each other's homes in true community

Acts 2:46-47-- "They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Christ-centered

Colossians 1:18-19 – "And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him."

Authority of scripture

2 Timothy 3:16-17-- "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Reaching families and helping them grow together spiritually

Psalm 78:2-4- "I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things from old- what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us, we will not hide them from their children, we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power and the wonders he has done."

Seeker sensitive and culturally relevant environment

Colossians 4:5-6 – "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
