The River is probably not going to be like other churches you may have visited in the past. We are not about religion, rules, or tradition. Instead, we are about relationships and helping people connect or reconnect with God. Our focus is on Loving God, Loving People, and Impacting the World. We focus on loving God through our Sunday services. We concentrate on loving people through our LifeGroups, and we impact the world through our involvement in serving our community and the world. We would love for you to stop by and check out one of our services on Sunday morning at 9:00am and again at 10:45am.
What are your services like?
Our services may look a little different from other churches or even different from the previous week! Why? Well first of all we're serious about helping you connect with God. Our services include great music with a high energy band, videos, and practical messages that apply to your life. You can also meet new friends in a casual, come as you are setting.
How do I get there? The River Community Church has two campuses, both with service times on Sunday at 9:00am and 10:45am. Please see our directions page for directions and a map for both campuses.
What can I expect from my experience? When you arrive at The River you will be greeted with a warm smile. You will be encouraged to come in and get some coffee and refreshments as you get comfortable in our worship center. Stop by the guest services table for information and assistance. If you have children we will help you get your kids, birth through the 6th grade, to our cool children's area for their own experience. You can expect an environment with upbeat music and a chance to meet new people. While we try to be creative with what we do in our services, we usually sing along with the band, hear a message from the Bible, have time to greet others, and a chance to respond back to God.
We hope that our worship service will give you a chance to connect with God and that He will change your life. At the end of the service you'll have an opportunity to let us know if there is anything we can do for you. As you leave the serice be sure to stop by The Next Step Table to pick up some more info about The River and a little gift from us as our thanks for stopping by.
Where can I take my children? We have a great children's area for your kids (birth through 6th grade). Our kids program seeks to love your children and provide a safe place where they can experience God on their own level. This is a fun environment with games, activities, and a Bible lesson. In the foyer look for someone from Guest Services who can direct you to the children's ministry check-in center. For more information please call Lori Vaughn at 931-528-3660 or send email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
What if I have a child with special needs? We also have a special needs children's ministry at The River. Two families on our leadership team have children of their own with special needs, and we have a heart for special needs families. We put a team of volunteers together to work with each child as a "buddy". The buddy goes to children's church with your child so that you can go to the service in peace and comfort knowing your special needs child is being well taken care of. If you call us in advance at 931-528-3660 or email Jeff Davidson ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )we can assist you in assembling a buddy team specific for you child and to make sure a buddy is present when you visit.
Do you have a youth group? Our 180 Youth Ministries meet Wednesday evenings at The River's Main Campus. Food and fellowship begin at 5:15p in the foyer. Service starts at 6p with a time of worship, teaching and games. For more information call Phil Kassel, Director of Youth Ministries at 931-528-3660 or email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
How do I get involved?A great way to start is by joining a Life Group. Life Groups are opportunities for us to love people by living our lives together. We believe that our faith is meant to be lived out in the context of relationships and community. Our Life Groups meet in people's homes as we enjoy friendships together. We study God's word together, pray together, support each other, and care for each other. We believe this is the environment where our faith is able to grow on an ongoing basis. At The River we have Life Groups of all types meeting throughout the week. Visit the Life Group Table in the foyer on Sunday or visit the Life Group page here on the website for more details. We also have opportunities for you to serve the world and our local community. We want to see our community changed with the lofe of God. We will provide opportunities to serve others in practical ways in the community through a variety of events and minitries. We also have areas where you can serve during our Sunday services by greeting, parking, guest services, hospitality, volunteering in our children's area, and many other areas. If you are interested please contact us.
